Please help us create a piece of art work for World Mental Health Day!

Above is the video for World Mental Health Day 2019.

We are working on a new YouTube video for World Mental Health Day 2020 (October 10th). Sharing what we believe to be the most important thing we as human beings can do for mental health.  This is to give your time, the most valuable resource you have. The video will have a script and images fading in and out to share and remind viewers of what the "human connection" is.

Please send us an image showing your interpretation of the Human Connection

Every day we are hearing more about mental health.  There's so much information about ill mental health and not enough emphasis on the great things positive mental health can help you to achieve.  We know what bad mental health looks like but what is the best way to recovery?  The human connection goes some way towards being well but there is more we can do when we have started to move in the right direction.  With this project we want to remind people they are human and this connection is something we feel and share when we give people our time.  Below are some examples of what we would use to make the viewer feel.

When you send in your pictures we will upload them to our facebook page (www.facebook.com/mindangelscharity) where people can like the images they feel and we will include them in the video.

You can email the image to info@mind-angels.com

When do we question our mental health - "Lost and Found"

As we get involved in life and progress we are unaware of the significant life issue we might face in the future.  As young people we expect life to be as perfect as we can make it and it is long and full of opportunity and potential.  This is true until reality hits us and we have obstacles to overcome.  Often obstacles are easy to find a way around but some are more challenging and we end up stuck in a place we have not been before and never expected to feel as low as we do.  We may experience physical problems, financial pressures, family difficulties, relationship insecurities, anxieties about the future or even emotional trauma.  We then become aware that the physical challenges we face are always accompanied by mental or emotional challenges also.  Sometimes these are more difficulty to overcome as we find out about a vulnerable part of ourselves which makes us question the perspective we had throughout our lives to this point.

This mental place we find in ourselves is like the lost and found.  Usually in a lost and found things are lost, found, handed in and waiting to be eventually collected.  However, in this lost and found we are the ones who are lost and we need a human to collect us, to find us again.  This is when the human connection is critical to our own recovery and without it we struggle alone, trying to find our way out.

the purpose of this Human Connection project is to remind people about this human connection and to share some of their valuable time to show we value the human connection for us and others.  We would like to complete this project in time for world mental health day.  By taking part or sharing this project where others can resend or submit a picture we are contributing to this human connection.  We are deciding that our time is worth something and we understand this is what we can do to help other peoples mental health as well as our own.  We are being Human.

You can look at the script (work in progress) to understand the concept and I hope you will be able to be involved by donating a picture you feel will help others to understand what the human connection means. Please read the questions and answers below to understand more about this project, the thought process and outcomes we need to share.

Q. Who has mental health?
A. Simple. If you have a brain you have a mind. If you have a mind what you put into it is important to determine how you feel, who you are and who you will become and determines your mental health. Managing this is good mental health, we all have it just as we all have a body.

Q. Why do we think it’s other people?
A. Because other people cannot see what we are thinking we can hide our own vulnerabilities, it’s a personal part of us. We are in denial.

Q. How do we know what to do to help ourselves and others.
A. There’s a lot of information becoming available as mental health continues to surface. No-one knows you better than you so first understand to look after yourself first so I can look after others. Then, the answer is to be mindful and use your senses to feel human. Art.

Q. What compromises do we make to avoid it?
A. The most important thing to understand is that you have power. It is in your mind before your body. We give up power by believing we don’t have any. Your time is your power. What you do with it can empower you but you have to give yourself that time to think before you act. Big actions and changes require big decisions which require big thoughts and often big time! The compromise is to take the easy way out and give up your power.

Q. What power do you have?
A. 12% of the UK population is on anti-depressants.
We will be creating a video to share the importance of human connection and would like your help. We’re not looking for money, we need you to provide one image which will help others to understand the human connection and give us your consent to use it.  Your power is your time.  To use your time physically, mentally or spiritually, this is your power.

How ever you believe this image makes you feel a “Human Connection”, it will be gratefully received.
Examples of the types of images we can use are in the gallery below.
If you don’t have anything, please share this page link so others who may have something valuable to share can be part of this important project. Just by sharing this you are taking part, giving some time and doing something for someone else.

Thank you!
