The Mind Angels Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing courses offers help to people to be able to support themselves. It is beneficial for all and has been also delivered specifically for individuals who are suffering from mild-moderate mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression.

The course is delivered in 1-day to businesses for staff in groups sessions.  This wellbeing course will provide tools, tips and techniques to support better "physical and mental balance",  As a one day course, there will be less repetition of the exercise portions of the class but it is still part of the course curriculum.  This is an experiential course which pulls together a toolkit of practical methods essential for anyone who wants to manage their physical and mental health better.

The one-to-one sessions maximise the benefits for participants by focusing effort specifically
targeted at the individuals requirements. This makes the sessions more intense but also more efficient and effective.  These sessions are for your managers, team leaders or general staff.

This is an opportunity to fund Mind Angels Charity's activities.

Below is the attendee feedback we have received from learners of our Summer and Winter courses delivered for Mind in Harrow.

At the end of the page you can download the feedback and/or scheme of works.

Background

It’s great when we can start working with a positive outlook, working productively on our priorities, seizing opportunities to be creative, confidently engaging with our peers, all with a focused energy that leaves us feeling satisfied with our performance, and what we have accomplished at the end of the day. Looking forward to returning for challenges and taking charge of another successful day. However, repeating these positive actions every day can be difficult if you have stress at home, have poor physical/mental health or even family difficulties. How can we be at our best every day?

Mind & Body

How do our thought affect us physically?

Stress will have an impact on your physical and mental health. Indeed, what goes on in your mind will affect your body. A simple example is when we feel worried, we have negative thoughts. If not managed, these negative thoughts will make us feel stressed. Stress produces a hormone called cortisol and this suppresses your immune system. Your immune system is constantly working to balance our body. We have bacteria and disease inside us and there is a constant balance that is maintained for good health. When the immune system is suppressed, it creates opportunity for illness to develop. If we don’t manage ourselves, this will become an issue over time and manifest itself in poor physical or poor mental health.

Mental Health, how?

Why do we have such prevalent ill Mental Health today?

We’re only recently realising the impact of poor mental health because we are seeing it accelerated in the youth. With smart phones and social media, we have unknowingly allowed their minds to be freely influenced by others. Now the horse has bolted the stable realisation has set in as we are picking up the pieces. Mind Angels have a solution for very young children’s mental health but we also know good practices for adults mental health.

Our Approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing

We believe that we are what is in our minds and if we don’t want to take care of ourselves, we simply wont. We have to be in the right place mentally before we can be motivated to look after ourselves physically or even spiritually.  This is why your mental health comes first.

Our wellbeing course was originally designed for service users from Mind, the mental health charity. We have run two terms, both with great success, which you can see from the feedback below. The tools we reveal and share each session will create a foundation of self-support which attendees will be able to maintain themselves. We teach methods which will become a routine over the course but intended to become habits in the long-term. With this routine participants know what to do, when to do it and how to create the balance in themselves, in order for them to achieve the next step, performance.

The course can be delivered in a day but to be effective we suggest each participant have eight, one-hour video conferencing sessions instead. This ensures it is private and confidential, one to one and delivered exclusively for the benefit of that individual. It is also flexible around their schedule.

How can we measure success of this program?

We provide reports of progress, however, feedback from the attendee and their peers will be requested to further validate and justify their attendance. Initial assessments create a baseline where the individuals score themselves and we will repeat the assessments at the end of the course to quantify the improvement. Combining feedback and evaluations will give us a good picture of success.

In addition, we will expect your feedback of your staff to support our findings. Let us do what we do to support the wellbeing of your staff so they can be their best at what they do, to support their team building a stronger organisation.

Note:

It is of course possible to treat poor mental health with medication and therapy but in the majority of cases* the techniques we share, especially one-to-one, will have faster results which the individual can maintain themselves, with no side effects.

*Mild to moderate,is identified on the initial assessment for one-to-one sessions. Serious mental health issues will need more focused and attention which will require referral.
